The great looking 2008 Toyota Avalon is ranked #1 by U.S. News in the category of best affordable large cars. The 3.5-liter, 268-horsepower V6 engine is accompanied by the 6-speed automatic electronically controlled transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). The XL, XLS, and Limited editions of this large sedan come in nine different exterior colors while the Touring version only has six different color choices. Each edition has my favorite color for the 2008 Toyota Avalon, which is Blue Mirage Metallic. Some versions have metallic trim on the interior while others have wood trim. I prefer the wood trim, but they’re both nice. The interior is very attractive and has some nice amenities. This 5-passenger sedan has an optional 8-way power-adjustable feature in the front seats and all versions of this vehicle come equipped with cruise control. As an economy car should provide good fuel efficiency, the 2008 Toyota Avalon hasn’t fallen short. It has an EPA of 19 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. Not only is the gas mileage cost effective, but both the front and rear seats are very roomy. I think that five adults would be very comfortable in this vehicle even on a long trip. If you do a lot of driving with rear seat passengers or just have a family with tall teenagers, the 2008 Toyota Avalon would be a comfortable and affordable choice.
The Advanced Airbag System includes dual stage front airbags, side impact airbags for the front seat passengers, driver’s knee airbags, and rear and side curtain airbags. The 2008 Toyota Avalon also comes equipped with the Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) system and a tire pressure monitoring system. As you can tell, Toyota really cares about safety.
Though the 2008 Toyota Avalon is an affordable car, I was surprised to learn about all that it has to offer in the way of luxuries. All varieties of this sedan come equipped with the keyless entry system that will allow you to lock and unlock your doors, open your trunk, or light the interior of the vehicle. In addition, the Limited edition offers this feature plus a push start button. All varieties have a standard 6-disc CD changer and XM satellite radio capability. All of the models with the exception of the most basic (the XL) have an optional DVD-based navigation system with voice activation. There’s also a standard Bluetooth interface in the Limited version. This is also an optional feature in the Touring and XLS editions.
With great safety features, excellent fuel efficiency, a lot of nice features, and an affordable cost, it’s no wonder that the 2008 Toyota Avalon was ranked #1.
