article : You must know : HHO Gas Car Modification - Is it a Scam? By George Knoechel Platinum Quality Author

By George Knoechel Platinum Quality Author

Well, that all depends on who you ask. There are those that have not tried HHO gas car modification technology and they are totally convinced that it is a scam. Then there are those that have actually went out and paid the $200 or o for the manual, parts, and anything else needed. After 2 hours of labor (Which anyone in the world can do. In fact, if you can measure air pressure, you can probably make the HHO gas car modification or conversion) and about 1 week of driving around, most drivers are convinced that HHO gas car modification is not a scam. I can tell you this, for those that have driven around and filled their gas tanks up more than once - there are not too many people that do not consider this technology to be anything short of a miracle. Consider these facts:

1. The U.S. Army has recently put in an order for a fleet of Hummers that have HHO gas car modification capability. I did not say it ordered a small line but "An entire fleet."

2. The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate have recently conducted hearings based on HHO gas car modification as an alternative fuel resource. The hearings were considered exploratory and reports say they have been very promising. And why not? After all, there are thousands of drivers that have already made the HHO gas car modification to their current vehicles

Car Modification : The Unic Cars

carmods01

What compels these car owners to go to extremes in the world of car modifications?

They are different, totally insane and head turning.

Unlike owners of brands like Ferrari, Porsche or Lamborghini, which compared to these cars, are common, these owners want to take car modification to the extreme….’how low can you go?’, ‘how big n bad is your spoiler?’. You can quite easily spend the same money on these cars as on purchasing a Ferrari.

As DannyBoy says “You can buy a Ferrari from anywhere….most people nowadays would not even bother looking at them, they are common you see……but these cars….you always get a comment….some people think they are ugly or stupid, but others think they are radical!…..the madder the badder….see!”

To these extreme modders, these cars are aesthetically pleasing….and pushing the boundaries of aerodynamics….a statement to the drones….we are unique, we are original! One thing is for sure….avoid those speed bumps!

article : Why Have A Car Sub Woofer?

By: Gavin Drake
Why should you have a car subwoofer? First you need to learn what one is. Well a subwoofer is a speaker that is powered by an amplifier tuned in to and plays back low-frequency sound or bass. Subwoofers create low-frequency sounds and contain those low notes that are missing from most car stereo systems. They are heavily used in the streetcar-tuning scene; many cars out there have massive I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) installs. There is even a whole range of music designed to push subwoofers to their limits and give them a thorough workout. The genre is known as “the bass track”.

The Many Types Of Car Subwoofer:

Subwoofers are either passive or powered, with the passive systems drawing power off of the car’s head unit, and the powered systems have an independent powerline hooked up to them, usually right off the battery. Car subwoofers are mounted in boxes and placed in the boots or trunk of the car, or in other places such as the cars parcel shelf or the space beneath the car's rear window. Car subwoofers also vary dramatically in size, on average from 6.5 inches all the way up to 60 inches in the crazy monster subwoofer category. There are plenty of relatively inexpensive subwoofers that are available, however the car subwoofer is a bit of a luxury item, so buy the best you can afford.

A Typical Car Subwoofer Setup:

The car subwoofer is mounted in a box made of MDF usually, although some of them come in tubes, known as bass tubes. Typically they are hooked up to a single channel amplifier set with a low crossover to provide the bass tones. Independent amplification is necessary, because the amount of power subwoofers need, can be too much for the car’s standard audio equipment. Since the car subwoofer is usually mounted in a box, they can take up a lot of room. If you want to fit a subwoofer you must be ready to sacrifice a substantial amount of space in order to house this specialty item. However, there are systems these days that place the car subwoofer and unused nooks and crannies of the car, these are specially built pod’s if you like and can be found for most popular makes of car.

Getting A Subwoofer Of Your Own:

A car subwoofer is a must in the overall high-end I.C.E setup. It is wise to choose the best product that you can afford, and not sacrifice price for quality. However that said, because of the big business there is in car audio products and subwoofers in general you can often find a bargain. My advice would be to search on the Internet and the online auction sites and see what you can pick up.

article : Choosing A Car Audio System

By: Victor Epand
Car audio system, in modern world, has become more of a symbol of status than of entertainment and utility. Selection of an audio system for your car can be as tough as buying clothes from a sales counter. In this case, at least a working knowledge on basic components of car system shall stand in good stead for the customer.

Deck, amplifiers, speakers and subwoofers are the essential ingredients of a car stereo system. A deck can range from simple cassette deck and CD player to hi-fi MP3 and mini disc gizmo. An amplifier, usually the symbol of power in the audio system, precisely, the power to blast, can have 1 to 7 channels. Fancy speakers will give the user enough mileage to hear and be heard. Subwoofers complement the low frequencies and bring forth the vibrations in a car that sets the rhythm in motion for the user.

Usually, most systems come with the facility of access to FM and AM radio. Different models of stereo can have multi channel mobile sound processors, digital media, navigation, steering wheel audio control adapter, etc. Acoustics must be adopted in the vehicle for maximum output from minimum input of the system. Also, it must be installed in the best possible manner for maximum audibility of the passengers and yet must not impinge on the guidelines set by motor vehicles authority.

Before zeroing in on one option, a user can easily shop via Internet from various service providers and settle for the best price. Here, quality and pricing will be complementary as it is a luxury item.

Also, the music system must be easy to handle and operate. As the user will mostly concentrate on driving while operating the system, cumbersome operations can create confusion and even disaster. Features of the audio system must also be compatible with the vehicle itself. A sleek car can do without a very big gadget, while larger vehicles can have added features in the stereo system.

Fitting the audio system into the car is an important consideration before you buy. Some service providers offer free services. Also, a user has to learn whether his motor insurance covers the audio system as well.

If you are a new user, it is best to go for simple audio system, instead of the advanced and highly customized ones. Also, it is better to use cheaper audio systems in the car used especially for children, as they are prone to damage it by their persistent experimentation.
Most importantly, it is always advisable for the user to stick to his budget while choosing an audio system. One must remember that with the frenetic pace of technology and digitalization even the most advanced system can fall by the wayside within a span of as little as six months.

Hence a user must look for a quality, cheap and effective audio system for his recreation while he takes a ride out in this fast changing world.

article : All About Car Audio Amplifiers

By: Victor Epand
When you are on the look out for car audio amplifiers, first you got to know how it functions and what is it used for. The purpose of a car audio amplifier is to convert a low level signal from the source unit to a high level signal for driving the loudspeakers. Amplifiers can range in power from 20 watts to over a thousand watts per channel. And their prices too differ from one amplifier to another depending on their features, quality and power. The most popular type of amplifier is the one with 2 to 4 channels model.

If needed, you can even add extra built-in features to car audio amplifiers whenever required. Some of these extra built-in features may include, crossovers, speaker level units, equalizers, and signal processing. While purchasing an amplifier for your car stereo system, there is one thing you need to take into consideration when it comes to dealing with amplifier power ratings. You should see that all power ratings are not created equal. The true measurement for an amplifier power is the RMS rating or the continuous power ratings.

Quality of the car audio amplifier is very important to take into account when buying the amplifier. But the question is how do you know if it is a high quality amplifier? The good indicator of a quality amplifier will be determined by the weight and the size of the amplifier. The heavier the amplifier the better the quality it will produce. But size is not all that matters

Another indication that you can consider is the quality of the car audio amplifier by the size of the fuse used. There are different classes of amplifier, and a quick and easy way to check the true power output is to take the fuse value of the amplifier or the sum of the multiple fuses and multiply it by 6, if it is an A or B class amps, or 10 for class D amps where the efficiency is higher. Though this will not give you an accurate result, but it will be able to indicate if your car audio amplifier is close to the specifications.

If you have a tight budget or lack of space, the most economical thing to do is to opt for a multi-channel amplifier with the required built-in processor and features that you need. This will save you a lot of money and space, which will in turn allow you to add any extra feature to your car audio amplifier. Though there will be difference in quality compared to the outboard processors but this will not be noticeable. Sometime adding too many components can lessen the chance of noise entering into the system.

To sum out in brief, the key features you need to look into before purchasing a car audio amplifier includes, bridgeable, channels, connectors, class, crossovers, distortion, filters, power output, efficiency, speaker level input, stability, separate gain controls, tube amplifier, tri-mode out put, power supply, pre-amp inputs and outputs. But make sure that you always opt for genuine brands through genuine dealers.

article : How To Install A Car Audio Amplifier

By: Victor Epand
Car audio amplifier is a tool that plays music inside a car. This amplifier is not a built in tool. That means you will not get it while buying a car. You have to buy it separately and have to install it in your car. Installing this has some specific procedures. Here you will some basic instructions about how to install a car audio amplifier.

First, you have to disconnect the terminals. This is not mandatory but this is just for safety reason. Now, you have to run the power cable to the amplifier from the battery. You have to find a ground point. It has to be closer to the amplifier. Make sure that the point is attached to the frame of the vehicle. The connection also has to be solid.

Run your power cable to the amplifier just as you have done with the power cable. If your ground point has any color, then remove it. Use a sandpaper to do this job. You can use it also to remove any rust. The connection will not be solid if the metal is not shiny. If you want to attach a ring terminal with the ground point, then this is the right time to do that. After this you have to wrap up the ground point with something that is non conducting. Then use some spray paint or any kind of finish that will protect the ground point from rust.

Do not forget to turn on the remote and to run the RCA cables. You have to pull out the head unit out of the mounting location. Fasten the remote turn on wire with the wiring harness of the head unit. Now, decide which amplifier will contain which RCA cable. Keep the RCA cables away from any type of power cables. Keep them away especially from the amps power cable.

Now, let all the wires of the speakers run. Fasten the wires with the amplifier. After this turn the remote on and add the power to the ground. Attach the fuse holder. Always attach it near the battery. If your battery terminals are very sophisticated, then do not forget to give proper protection and connect them in the right way. Attach the other cables with the battery. It will be better if you can get your battery terminals a brand new cover.

Before turning on the amplifier, check it properly. Turn the gain of the amplifier down. After that turn your system on and listen carefully. Check whether everything is working properly or not. Listen to the sound carefully. Think whether you can hear any noise or not, and verify how much noise you can hear. Verify whether there is any distortion exists that is audible. If everything is completely all right, then move on to the next step.

Your next step is to think how you will give power to the amp, where your amp will stay, etc. With that your amplifier will be fixed perfectly. If you follow all these steps then you will be able to install your amplifier safely and properly.

article : A Guide To Easy Car Amplifier Installation

Installing car amplifiers is challenging. You have to make sure the amplifier gets enough air circulation to keep from overheating while enclosing it in a way that prevents theft. Satisfying these needs doesn't always yield the best looking results. But, you can still show off your personal style when installing your amplifier with these simple suggestions.

Picture how you want the amp to look. Are you thinking "high tech" with a concealed panel? Or, are you going for a more industrial look with visible cables? Paint it; Wrap it in leather, carpet, or vinyl. Use your imagination and your rack design will show your style.

Airflow is a major consideration when installing an amplifier. The electronics in the amplifier produce a lot of heat when you crank up volume, and heat can damage the components. Ample airflow is essential for good performance and reliability and two ways to accomplish this are convection and forced-air systems.

The simplest cooling method is convection. It's simple because most car amplifiers come with convection cooling already built in. Convection occurs when the warm air inside the amplifier rises and dissipates through the fins of the aluminum heat sink. Warm air is replaced by cooler air drawn from below creating a continuous circulation of cool air that prevents the amp from overheating. Convection cooling works fine as long as the air circulates. The ideal would be to install the rack on a vertical surface in an open space with the fins vertically aligned.

A forced air system has triple the cooling capacity of a simple convection system. Simply adding an electric fan to increase airflow over the amplifier's heat sinks makes a big difference. That's one reason why high power amplifiers have thermostats; thermostats control the fans. If your rack holds multiple convection cooled amplifiers, it's worth it to install multiple fans. The cooler the amps, the longer they'll last. Running power for a fan is just a matter of connecting with the source unit's remote turn on lead since most accessory fans run on 12v DC. When the system turns on, the fans start up along with the other components on that circuit.

Now that you've got this great amplifier you want to show it off, but, how do you keep it from being stolen? If you can see the rack from the outside, you could be tempting fate. Consider one of the following options to prevent someone from stealing your equipment.

1.Make it detachable by fastening the amp rack with wing nuts. If the amplifier takes up cargo space, being able to take it out of the vehicle is an asset. However, removing the rack every time you park your car can be a hassle.

2.Create a removable secret panel to conceal the rack. The cover can be made of anything from fabric to fiberboard.

3.Install a good security system.

Use all three deterrents for the ultimate protection. Detachability provides extra security and additional cargo space when necessary. A removable panel is convenient. And, finally, a security system provides the last defense. You put a lot of effort into this project. Protect your work in style.

article : Boost your power with a car amplifier

By: Marc Deschamps
A car amplifier will give you a loud and clear sound on a consistent basis. It will boost the power flowing from the receiver to the speakers. In doing so, it will reduce the stress put on all the other componets of your car stereo system, including the receiver.

Choosing the right car amplifier is important. Your decision should be based on five important features. Make sure you address them all !

The first item on the agenda is the number of channels. This will depend on the number of speakers in your system. Two-channel amplifiers will feed well two speakers or a single subwoofer. You will want to consider a four-channel amplifier if you have any of the following combinations :

¤ Four speakers
¤ Two subwoofers
¤ Two speakers and one subwoofer

Then you want to look at power. An amplifier with an output two times the one of the reciever will give you enough added volume with less distortion. Make sure the wattage of the amplifiers is within the speaker's range. Also, make sure your electrical system can support the additional wattage.

An important feature to consider for your car amplifier is the connection structure. Many factory-installed receivers only come with speaker-level inputs that will require special adaptors. This will normally work very well. However, you may experience some distortion through the speakers. In that event, you may want to consider a new CD/MP3/AM/FM receiver, depending on your budget and sound requirements.

An amplifier normally includes a device to filter different frequencies and minimize distortion. This is called a crossover. Your amplifier should have one crossover for high-frequency notes and another for low-frequencies.

We should discuss one last feature. Most car amplifiers can combine the power of two channels into a single one. This is called bridging and is used to boost the power of the amplifier. The downside to this technique is to create some distortion and limiting the number of available channels. Since the cost of a an amplifier is more and more reasonable it might be wiser to buy a more powerful one !

If you are due for a car stereo upgrade, including an amplifier, don't be afraid to shop around for the best audio components at the most competitive price.

Here you go ! You are hopefully better "connected" to the important features to consider for your car amplifier ..... and more knowledge means ..... more power .... to make the right buying decision.
